The refurbishment of the existing Food Court, Playtown, and northern tenancies will commence from Monday 12 July, which involves the installation and opening of a new internal temporary connection tunnel. This will ensure you can continue to travel between both malls from past Novo around to Typo at all times.
To allow for the commencement of works on the all new northern entry, adjustments and access to the Auswide entrance will occur from time to time and whilst the access route is altered, it will continue to remain open during this period.
A reminder, all your favourite retailers are still open and trading during the redevelopment phase and vehicle and customer access points continue to remain open.
As always, we remain committed to creating a place dedicated to everyday shopping! From our fresh food offer at Kings Road Market to our fashion, homewares and kids apparel ranges, there’s something for everyone, everyday.
The Development Application has been approved by Townsville City Council and will create up to 160 jobs during construction and up to 100 new jobs within the centre once the redevelopment works are completed.
Every entrance remains open for easy access, with all your favourite retailers trading as normal.
You’ll notice some temporary changes in the carpark to enable construction and contractor access, however there is still plenty of undercover parking available.
Once complete, the new entrance (pictured above) will be located beside the basement travelator with access also via the Woolcock Street ground level car park. A new lift will also be installed from the basement car park to allow easy access to the new entrance and Coles.
Access into the centre via the travelator (opposite Novo), the Australia Post entrance and the Bank of Queensland entrance all continue to remain open. Playtown remains open alongside favourite brands including Big W, Woolworths, Adairs, Witchery, Lorna Jane and Cotton On. It’s best accessed via the common mall, passing Novo and Typo, on the usual route to the Food Court.
Make sure you say HELLO to Good Morning Coffee Traders, Red Dragon, Origin Kebabs and New Zealand Natural who all continue to trade out of the Food Court.
We will continue to keep you updated as the redevelopment progresses, and we are also very excited about some pending leasing announcements … so stay tuned! We’ll also be rolling out a series of fun, interactive experiences and look forward to announcing these in the months ahead.
